How to get it

Sold for 20,000 gold by the garrison's own trader, Trader Araanda in Lunarfall (Alliance) or Trader Darakk in Frostwall (Horde), who stands in the Town Hall by the mission table once the garrison is tier 3. No reputation is involved.

Time there about 2 min a visit

Before you go

  • Draenor garrison founded and raised to tier 3: the Town Hall's second level costs 200 Garrison Resources, then My Very Own Castle (Alliance) or My Very Own Fortress (Horde), a quest for level 40, asks for 2,000 Garrison Resources, and the upgrade itself costs 5,000 gold · about 4 h over 10 days
  • 20,000 gold

In all: about 4 h of play, spread over 10 days, 25,000 gold, starting from nothing.

Notes and sources

The journal's cost is right as it stands: 20,000 gold and no other currency. Wowhead's sold-by list (read 2026) has Trader Araanda (NPC 95470, friendly to the Alliance) and Trader Darakk (NPC 95471, friendly to the Horde), both titled Local Supplies, and the wiki's pages for both agree. What the journal leaves out is the garrison.

The two traders came with patch 6.2; the wiki's Town Hall page lists each among the inhabitants that arrive at level 3, and a 2015 reply on Wowhead says 'the vendor is right next to your garrison quest table'. That they are missing from a smaller garrison rests on the wiki's list and on what was found for the Rocktusk Battleboar (the same traders' other mount) in comments of 2015; nothing newer was found, which is why the confidence is medium. The Rocktusk Battleboar's notes also cite a 2015 comment that a character without such a garrison could buy in a party leader's tier 3 garrison; not confirmed for the present game.

Coordinates are on each garrison's own map, from Wowhead's tooltips: Araanda at 29.2-31.0, 33.6-34.6 in Lunarfall, Darakk at 40.2-40.8, 54.4-56.0 in Frostwall; they are the same points used for the Rocktusk Battleboar. Lunarfall lies in Shadowmoon Valley and Frostwall in Frostfire Ridge; the garrison is a private area, so the place is the character's own.

There is no reputation with these vendors and so no discount (a 2015 comment), and the item can be handed back for a refund within two hours (Wowhead). The most recent buyer in the comments paid the 20,000 in 2024.

Upgrading the garrison: the forum posts of 2022 and 2026 agree on 2,000 Garrison Resources and 5,000 gold for tier 3; one of the 2026 replies gives 500 gold and 500 resources for the step before, where the wiki has 200 resources, and its author says they are unsure. The forum adds that Huge Ogre Caches full of resources are sold on the auction house.

No guide is linked: buying takes only turning up once the garrison is tier 3. Wowhead's page lists Mounts from the Garrison (2014) and a Warlords mount collector's guide (2014), which were not read. The item binds when picked up and asks for level 17 since patch 9.0.1 (wiki).

Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
