Look it up on WowheadHow to get it
Dropped every time by Luk'hok, a rare elite elekk in the east of Nagrand on Draenor. He appears at one of five spots, 2 to 8 hours after his body last vanished, and everyone who takes part in the kill gets the mount, up to 40 players at once.
Time there about 10 min a visit
Guide Wowhead: Through the Years: A Guide to Notable Open-World Rare Mounts
Before you go
- Luk'hok being up. If he is not at any of the five spots, stay in Nagrand: when the zone has stood empty of players for 15 minutes it unloads and his timer starts afresh, so a character left waiting there usually meets him some 2 to 3 hours after the zone woke, 8 at the outside · about 3 h
In all: about 3 h of play, starting from nothing.
Getting there
/way Nagrand 66.6 43.4 - Take the portal from Wizard's Sanctum to Ashran*
- Fly the rest of the way
- Take the portal from Pathfinder's Den to Ashran*
- Fly the rest of the way
/way is for the TomTom addon. Travel times are estimates: flying at 55 yards a second in a straight
line and 30 seconds for a portal. A star marks a portal that needs a quest or other unlock done first.
Notes and sources
Wowhead's recorded loot has the mount in 3,318 of 3,318 loots, and its tooltip says 100%. Only one Luk'hok is up on a realm at a time, and he keeps close to the spot he appears at (a 2025 comment).
The five spots are the clusters of Wowhead's map pins for him:
- 66.2-67.2, 43.0-44.8
- 74.4-76.0, 30.6-32.4
- 72.2-72.6, 53.4-53.8
- 79.4-80.0, 55.0-56.4
- 84.2, 63.2-63.6
The list players pass around is 66.6, 43.2; 76.2, 30.4; 73.0, 53.6; 79.4, 55.4; 84.8, 63.8. The time on the spot is one round of the five spots; the hours of waiting are given separately.
The sources disagree on the timer. Wowhead's guide to open-world rare mounts (updated 2025) says 2-8 hours from the moment the body despawns for all six such rares of Draenor. The much-repeated older figure, 12-28 hours, is a 2015 comment and is still what wow.gg's guide (2026) gives; a 2024 comment calls it out of date. One player in 2025 found him 17 minutes after entering the zone, which does not fit the 2-hour minimum; the same player had noticed some older rares now coming back after 15 minutes.
The reset when the zone is empty holds for every Draenor zone but Shadowmoon Valley (Wowhead's guide); a rare that is up when it happens is gone too. The NPC Time addon shows how long a creature has been alive, which tells how long the zone has been awake. No daily lockout is mentioned anywhere, and the mount is learned once, so it does not matter. He was level 100 when new and is level 40 on Wowhead now (147,210 health).
wow.gg's guide is not linked because of its timer and because it sends the player to Nagrand through a garrison portal, which no other source read mentions.
Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
