Trained Meadowstomper

Build a Stables in the garrison, lasso a Young Meadowstomper in Nagrand for the quest Entangling an Elekk, then do 7 daily Elekk Training quests, each a kill made from the back of the meadowstomper-in-training; the last, Elekk Training: The Garn, rewards the mount. The quests come from Keegan Firebeard (Alliance) or Tormak the Scarred (Horde) at the Stables.

/way is for the TomTom addon. Travel times are estimates: flying at 55 yards a second in a straight line and 30 seconds for a portal. A star marks a portal that needs a quest or other unlock done first.

About twelve days from the day the Stables are built, some 10 minutes a day for the elekk alone: four days of other captures, the elekk's on the fifth, then seven training quests. Icy Veins puts the whole Stables, all six animals, at 12 days.

The order of captures rests on Icy Veins alone: talbuk and clefthoof (in the opposite order for the Horde), then boar, riverbeast, elekk, wolf. The notes for the Trained Riverwallow and the Trained Snarler count their days from the capture and do not allow for it.

The place given above is the garrison's own spot on the zone map, as for the guide's other garrison mounts, not the Stables' plot, which the player chooses.

For the capture the guide and the quest's comments say not to ride the Nagrand outpost mount (the Telaari Talbuk or its Horde counterpart), because the rope breaks at once, and to start a little ahead of the animal so that the leash stays short over the bridge; after the bridge it drops off two more ledges. Comments of early 2018 report the elekk outrunning every mount; that was fixed in February 2018.

Training: the wiki gives Elekk Training: Cruel Ogres as the quest that follows the capture and The Garn as the one that rewards the mount; Icy Veins says the targets come in the same order for every animal and that the elekk skips the first five. The wiki's page for Keegan Firebeard appears to list 8 Elekk Training quests where Wowhead's guide and Icy Veins say 7; that page was read only in summary, so the count was not settled.

The mount stays if the Stables are later replaced (Wowhead guide); wow.gg (updated 2026) advises keeping the building until all six are trained. The capture quest is shown as level 35-40 and the last training quest as level 40 (wiki).
