Before you go
- Draenor garrison founded and raised to tier 3: the quest Bigger is Better takes it to tier 2 for 200 Garrison Resources, then My Very Own Castle (Alliance) or My Very Own Fortress (Horde), a quest for level 40, asks for 2,000 Garrison Resources, and the upgrade itself costs 5,000 gold · about 4 h over 10 days
- 10,000 gold
In all: about 4 h of play, spread over 10 days, 15,000 gold, starting from nothing.

Notes and sources
The journal's cost is right as it stands: 10,000 gold, with no other currency (Wowhead, wiki). What it leaves out is the garrison: the two traders, titled Local Supplies, stand in a level 3 garrison Town Hall by the wiki. They came with patch 6.2.
The top Wowhead comments (2015) say Araanda stands inside the Town Hall by the mission table and 'Appears to only be available in level 3 garrisons'. Nothing newer was found on that, which is why the confidence is medium.
The coordinates are on each garrison's own map, the middle of Wowhead's tooltip positions: Araanda between 29.2, 33.6 and 31.0, 34.6 in Lunarfall, Darakk between 40.2, 54.4 and 40.8, 56.0 in Frostwall. Lunarfall lies in Shadowmoon Valley and Frostwall in Frostfire Ridge.
The same 2015 comment says a character without such a garrison could buy from her in a party leader's tier 3 garrison (the portrait menu's 'view leader's garrison'), and a second comment agrees. That is not confirmed for the present game, and since the garrison is a private area the place given above is the character's own.
Forum posts of 2022 and 2026 agree on 2,000 Garrison Resources and 5,000 gold for tier 3; one of them gives 500 gold and 500 resources for tier 2, where the wiki has 200 resources. Resources come from missions and work orders among other things (wiki), and the forum adds that Huge Ogre Caches full of them are sold on the auction house.
The traders also sell the Witherhide Cliffstomper for 20,000 gold. The item asks for level 17 since patch 9.0.1 (wiki). Wowhead says 47% of profiles have the mount.
No guide is linked: buying takes only turning up once the garrison is tier 3. Wowhead's page lists a guide called Mounts from the Garrison, written for patch 6.1 and last edited in 2020, which was not opened.
Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
