Earn Advanced Husbandry: with the Black Claw of Sethe in the bags, kill six Nagrand training targets once on each of the garrison Stables' six mounts-in-training (36 kills). The claw lies on the floor of a level 2 Stables, and each mount-in-training is called with its whistle, so all six animals have to be captured first.
Time there about 1 h a visit
Before you go
- Garrison founded, raised to tier 2, Stables built on a large plot (150 gold and 150 Garrison Resources, 1-hour build timer) · about 2.5 h
- Stables raised to level 2, which makes the Black Claw of Sethe appear inside it: the level 2 blueprint (1,500 gold, or free with the Comprehensive Outpost Construction Guide from the outpost quest chains), then 900 Garrison Resources and 300 gold. Large buildings' level 2 blueprints open at Draenor's level cap or once Nagrand's outpost quests are done · about 1 h
- All six animals captured, so that each has a whistle: the Stables' lasso quests for the talbuk, clefthoof, boar, riverbeast, elekk and wolf, one new animal a day in a fixed order. Each day's Training quest then hands over that animal's whistle · about 3 h over 6 days
- The 36 kills, all in Nagrand, the Black Claw of Sethe in the bags throughout: Gorian Beast-Lasher (79.2, 71.6), Thundercall (90.6, 23.6), Karak the Great Hunter (69, 34.3), Maimclaw (63, 80), Ironbore (53.2, 77.6) and Moth of Wrath (43.0, 69.1), each killed once from the back of each of the six mounts-in-training. The Training quests need not be open: with the six whistles in the bags every target can be killed six times on one visit · about 1.5 h
In all: about 8 h of play, spread over 6 days, 1,950 gold, starting from nothing.

Notes and sources
The journal names only the achievement. Wowhead's tooltip lists six criteria:
- Maimclaw
- Moth of Wrath
- Ironbore
- Beast-Lasher
- Thundercall
- Karak killed
The wiki's description reads 'Defeat all mount-in-training targets in Nagrand while carrying the Black Claw of Sethe'. That each criterion stands for six kills, one on every mount-in-training, is from Wowhead's guide ('every mount-in-training', '36 kills for each achievement') and its comments ('you need to kill these on EVERY mount once', 2014; the game shows progress as '3/6 have defeated moth', 2015). The Darkwing Roc, the seventh Nagrand training target, is not part of it.
The claw lies on the ground inside the Stables once the building is level 2, next to the Garn-Tooth Necklace of a level 3 Stables (wiki; the best-rated comment on the achievement). It slows the mount-in-training by a quarter and raises the damage it takes by a quarter. The two items work together, so a character with a level 3 Stables can earn The Stable Master (the Armored Frostwolf) with the same 36 kills (comments of 2015 and 2018). A 2014 comment says the claw can be picked up in a friend's garrison, so that a level 1 Stables would do; not confirmed since.
Whistles: a daily Training quest gives the whistle for its animal, and the whistle still works from the bags once the quest is done (Wowhead's guide). A level 3 Stables hands out free whistles with three charges, two sets for the six targets (the guide; comments of 2015). That is the way for a character that has already finished training every animal, the question a 2026 comment leaves unanswered. Whether a level 2 Stables hands out whistles once the training is over was not established.
Following the dailies instead of one sitting takes about 13 days from the first capture (as worked out for the Armored Frostwolf): the Nagrand targets are the last seven Training quests of every animal, and the best-rated comment on the guide (2014) lines the six animals up so that each day's target is the same for all. A 2015 comment has all six captures done in one day by logging over between them; nothing newer confirms it.
Others may help with a kill and it still counts (2014 comment). A nearby player's failed attempt can scare the mount-in-training away, which costs a whistle charge (2015). The targets come back about a minute after a kill (2015 reply).
Wowhead's tooltip marks the achievement's progress as account-wide; whether kills on different characters add up was not established. The achievement has an Alliance and a Horde version (9539 and 9705).
The spots are from Wowhead's guide; the best-rated comment gives the same to the whole number. The places given above are the garrisons' own spots on the zone map, as for this guide's other garrison mounts, not the Stables' plot, which the player chooses. The time on the spot is the 36 kills around Nagrand.
Wowhead's guide was written for patch 6.1 and last updated in 2018; the comments since are few (2019, 2021, 2026), so nothing read confirms the details for Midnight.
Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
