How to get it

Sold by Zachariah Post, the Undead Horse Merchant in Brill, Tirisfal Glades, for 10 gold. Forsaken buy it outright; every other Horde race has to be Exalted with Undercity first. The Brill he is known to trade in is the one of the past: speak with Zidormi in Tirisfal Glades to see the zone as it was before the Battle for Lordaeron.

Before you go

  • Tirisfal Glades switched to the past: speak with Zidormi (69.4, 62.8) and ask to see the zone before the Battle for Lordaeron. A character that still sees the old zone skips this · about 0.1 h
  • Exalted with Undercity, unless the buyer is Forsaken: the Undercity Tabard from the quartermaster, Captain Donald Adams, worn in old dungeons such as The Botanica turns their reputation into Undercity's; quests in Tirisfal Glades, Silverpine Forest, Hillsbrad Foothills and Western Plaguelands, the cooking and fishing dailies in Undercity and the Argent Tournament count too · about 2 h
  • 10 gold

In all: about 2.1 h of play, 10 gold, starting from nothing.

/way is for the TomTom addon. Travel times are estimates: flying at 55 yards a second in a straight line and 30 seconds for a portal. A star marks a portal that needs a quest or other unlock done first.

Notes and sources

Zachariah Post stands in more than one version of the world. The place given above is the old Brill reached through Zidormi, as for his other horses; their notes have the dated reports from his Wowhead page, which were not read again for this mount: a trade there in 2023 and a 2026 reply saying Zidormi was what worked in Midnight. A character for whom the past Brill does not work should try the tent in the Ruins of Lordaeron, and the top of the Gates of Orgrimmar.

Wowhead's sold-by list for this item (as read in 2026) names three of him; 8 gold is the price with the Exalted discount (a 2009 comment gives 8 gold for the epic horses at Exalted):

  • the old one in Tirisfal Glades (npc 4731), at 10 gold
  • one in Orgrimmar (npc 141691), at 8 gold
  • one in the Tirisfal Glades of patch 9.2.5 (npc 186016), at 8 gold

Against the old Brill, wow.gg's guide for this mount (updated 2026) calls Brill outdated and sends the buyer to his tent in the north-east corner of the Ruins of Lordaeron, at about 66, 67, and the newest comment on Wowhead's item page (2023) puts him there 'as of patch 9.2.5' at 65.90, 67.62. Neither says which version of the zone a character has to be in to see that tent, and wow.gg does not mention Zidormi; no dated report of buying at the tent was read.

The journal leaves out the reputation and the timeline. By the wiki, only undead can buy from him by default and others must be Exalted with Undercity, and his gossip says so. Wowhead's tooltip lists every Horde race on the item. Where a character that is not Forsaken starts with Undercity was not found.

For the tabard the wiki places Captain Donald Adams in the Trade Quarter of the old Undercity (63.6, 48.8), which lies in the same past timeline as the old Brill; wow.gg has him on the wall above Orgrimmar's main gate (about 56, 90) and says he may not show until the Shadowlands introduction is begun.

The wiki's Championing page says a capital's tabard works in dungeons of any level and that level 70 Burning Crusade dungeons give capital reputation through Exalted; wow.gg adds that it does not work in the current expansion's dungeons. An older data point is a 2010 Wowhead comment: about 7 hours with the tabard on a blood elf.

The wiki has the mount at level 17 with Apprentice Riding since patch 9.0.1; Wowhead shows level 1 and Apprentice Riding. He also sells the Ochre and Purple Skeletal Warhorses at 10 gold and four Skeletal Horses at 1 gold, so the one reputation opens all seven.

Guides: wow.gg's is the only one found with steps for the reputation, though it disagrees with the place given above. Wowhead's is a player's list (updated 2024) of every racial mount with its vendor and the rule that they are bought by being Exalted with the faction or by being of its race; it names this mount under Zachariah Post and says nothing of where he stands.

Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
