Sold by Z'tenga the Walker, the Saberstalker Quartermaster at the Saberstalkers' camp just north of Fang'rila in Tanaan Jungle, for 5,000 Blackfang Claws once the character is Exalted with The Saberstalkers. Claws and reputation both come from killing the Blackfang saberon of Fang'rila, so one long hunt there pays for both.
Time there about 2 min a visit
Before you go
- Exalted with The Saberstalkers: 42,000 reputation from Neutral. 25 for each Blackfang Hunter, Prowler, Savage or Shaman killed in Fang'rila, 500 for each of the rare elites there (Soulslicer, Gloomtalon, Krell the Serene, The Blackfang; back about every half hour), 3,500 from Z'tenga's weekly quest Rumble in the Jungle (three champions called with totems that cost 40 claws together) and 1,500 from the daily Tooth and Claw on the days the Tanaan base offers it · about 4.5 h
- 5,000 Blackfang Claws: 2 to 5 from each of the same saberon, 100 from Tooth and Claw · about 0.5 h
In all: about 5 h of play, starting from nothing.

Notes and sources
The journal's cost of 5,000 is Blackfang Claws: Wowhead's sold-by list has Z'tenga the Walker (npc 92805) alone, at 5,000 of item 124099, open to both factions. The wiki's vendor table agrees and lists the mount at Exalted. The same vendor sells the Wild Goretusk for 1,000 claws at Honored.
Two items are tied to this mount: 128481 is the one he sells (Wowhead, wiki), and Wowhead shows no source at all for 128480. The tooltip of each asks for Exalted with The Saberstalkers and Apprentice Riding.
Coordinates are Wowhead's tooltip for him (55.2, 74.8); the wiki has 55, 74 and places him north of Fang'rila at the Saberstalkers' camp, and wow.gg's 47, 73 does not fit either.
Claws are an item that binds when picked up and stacks to 999 (wiki), so they have to be gathered by the character that buys; wow.gg calls them account-bound, against the wiki. They drop only in Fang'rila (Wowhead's Tanaan guide), and they count for the achievement I Came, I Clawed, I Conquered (5,000 looted; the same guide).
How the loot falls matters for the count. A player who reached Exalted in a party of five on the patch's first night had only 683 claws by then (2015 comment, with reputation bonuses running), while players hunting by themselves gathered 5,000 in a few hours, one of them in about 250 minutes (comments of 2015 and 2016, with the gear of the day). Nothing newer has been posted, so the hours here are a guess for a character of today. Players of 2015 took the stacking buff from the green pools by Fang'rila's lake before pulling large packs.
The weekly Rumble in the Jungle needs a Minor, a Major and a Prime Blackfang Challenge Totem from Z'tenga (5, 10 and 25 claws) to call Akrrilo, Rendarr and Eyepiercer. Tooth and Claw is offered at random by Parvink at Lion's Watch or Nimi Brightcastle at Vol'mar (wiki), so it needs the Tanaan base, which takes the garrison's shipyard quests (see the Corrupted Dreadwing); the saberon and the weekly quest are at Fang'rila itself.
Not established: whether Z'tenga stands at his camp for a character that has never done those quests. Wowhead's Tanaan guide noted in 2015 that Tanaan could be walked into from north-eastern Talador without them, with the faction base and its vendors then missing; that is about Lion's Watch and Vol'mar and does not settle his camp, and the wiki lists no prerequisite for him.
Other ways to the reputation, as given for the Soaring Skyterror from the wiki: a Medallion of the Legion gives 1,000 with Draenor's factions, a level 3 Trading Post adds 20%, and during Warlords of Draenor Timewalking the event's vendors sell a Saberstalkers commendation for badges.
Wowhead's Tanaan guide is from 2015 (last updated 2017) and covers the faction in a paragraph; it links a guide of its own for the Saberstalkers, which was not opened. wow.gg has a guide (updated 2026) that reckons 8 to 12 hours over two or three weeks and about 5 claws a kill; it is not linked because it presents the mount as the Alliance's and disagrees with the wiki on the claws.
Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
