Chance item in the Savage Gift, which Izzy Hollyfizzle, the events coordinator in a level 3 Draenor garrison, sells for 5 Merry Supplies. The supplies come from the four Winter Veil dailies handed out in the garrison and done around Grumpus's camp in Frostfire Ridge (about 45, 28): Where Are the Children?, Menacing Grumplings and What Horrible Presents! pay 1 each and Grumpus pays 2, so one gift a day for each character that does them.
Chance 2.61% once a day, so about 38 tries on average — Wowhead (read 2026-10-11): the mount in 1,035 of 39,621 opened Savage Gifts. The count is per opening player and runs from 2015; it still lists an elixir taken out of the gift in 2017. Players' own tallies in Wowhead comments for the seasons of 2020 to 2025 add up to 55 mounts in 2,505 gifts (2.2%): 4 in 139, 2 in 146, 10 in 268, 7 in 357, 16 in 578, 1 in 221 and 15 in 796

line and 30 seconds for a portal. A star marks a portal that needs a quest or other unlock done first.
Notes and sources
One gift a day per character, so about 18 gifts in a season: at 2.61% that is about a 38% chance over one season on one character (1 - 0.9739^18), and it is why players run the dailies on many characters. The holiday's dates are those of Wowhead comments and wow.gg; a 2026 comment counts 19 days for the last season.
The quest givers are Almie for the Alliance and Pizzle for the Horde, and Izzy takes the quests in (wiki). The game tags the quest Grumpus as a group quest; the other three are ordinary dailies.
Izzy's place in Lunarfall is the wiki's (44.3, 51.2); in Frostwall Wowhead's tooltip has her between 47.4 and 48.6 across and 37.4 and 39.0 down, and the place given above is the middle of that. The quest area's 45, 28 is from Wowhead comments and wow.gg (45, 27); it was not checked against a map.
Merry Supplies bind to the Warband (Wowhead tooltip, wiki), so supplies from several characters can be pooled, but each character still needs its own level 3 garrison to be given the quests; wow.gg's guide calls the supplies character-bound, which the tooltip contradicts. Leftover supplies keep after the holiday and can be spent then (Wowhead comments of 2016 and 2024, the second reporting the mount from a gift opened outside the event).
The gift itself binds when picked up and cannot be refunded (hotfix of December 2015, wiki). The other things in a gift: 300 Oil, 300 Garrison Resources, 1,000 Apexis Crystals, Medallion of the Legion or Frozen Arms of a Hero (wiki, Wowhead).
The mount item carries no binding line in Wowhead's tooltip and players sell it, so it can be traded; this guide is about earning it. Wowhead's pages list a Feast of Winter Veil guide, which was not opened.
