Notes and sources

Alliance characters only. Lieutenant Karter sits on a horse outside the Champions' Hall at 76.1, 65.4 (wiki, edited 2025). The journal's cost of 15 is Marks of Honor (wiki: the mount's page and the vendor's list both say 15 Mark of Honor).

Marks bind to the Warband (wiki: since patch 11.0.2), so they can be earned on any character and spent by an Alliance one; they sit in the bags, not in the currency pane. The wiki's page for the Mark (edited 2026) says they are awarded by almost all PvP activities and come in the Glorious Contender's Strongbox; battlegrounds, arenas, skirmishes and PvP world quests are named only in its notes for patches 7.0.3 and 7.1.5.

Five can be had for 2,000 Honor as an Orboreal or an Algari Distinguishment. The wiki names a seller only for Valdrakken (Seltherex, in a hotfix note of January 2023); which Honor vendor sells Marks in Midnight was not established, as for the Black Battlestrider and the Black War Elekk.

The wiki has it asking for level 17 and Apprentice Riding since patch 9.0.1 and costing 15 Marks of Honor since patch 7.0.3; the item binds when picked up. The mount has two items: the wiki gives 29467 as the retail item and 18244 as the Classic one. Wowhead's tooltip for 18244 names this vendor and price; 29467 was not checked, and Wowhead's page for the mount was not read.

Confidence in this entry: high. Looked up in 2026.
