Look it up on WowheadHow to get it
Very rare drop, as the item Reins of the Infinite Timereaver, from any boss of any Timewalking dungeon or Timewalking raid while a Timewalking event is on. Every player gets a roll of their own on each boss. The dungeons are queued for in the Dungeon Finder from anywhere, so there is no place to travel to. The Cache of Timewarped Treasures, the reward of a Timewalking week's raid quest (Black Temple, Ulduar or Firelands), can hold it as well.
Chance Never published, and Wowhead's counts cannot give it. Its item page (read 2026-10-11) lists 33 dungeon bosses, 576 mounts in 6,290,855 recorded kills together (0.009%), but those kills take in the same bosses outside Timewalking, where it cannot drop: single bosses run from 0.0015% (Altairus, 6 in 395,464) to 0.15% (Mennu the Betrayer, 51 in 33,177). The Rarity addon's figure is 1 in 4,000 for each boss (0.025%; quoted in a Blizzard forum thread of November 2024, and an Icy Veins news item seen only as a search excerpt gives the same, with 1 in 500 for the weekly cache). The one clean count is the raid quest's cache: 27 mounts in 12,570 opened Caches of Timewarped Treasures (0.21%); that quest is a weekly one, in the weeks that have a Timewalking raid. Dungeons can be run again at once, so no lockout on the bosses

Notes and sources
How it drops is firm; how often is not. The wiki calls it 'a random drop from bosses in Timewalking dungeons and raids. It can also drop from the Cache of Timewarped Treasures in addition to a piece of gear', and says of the caches that it 'is obtainable from all sources'. Wowhead's top comment: a low chance from any Timewalking boss, on a personal loot roll.
It still drops in Midnight (Wowhead comments from 2025 to 2026), on characters of level 11, 29, 83 and 87:
- from last bosses and others in Zul'Farrak, Throne of the Tides, Neltharion's Lair, Skyreach and Auchindoun
- from Illidan in the Black Temple Timewalking raid (2026)
- from the cache of the Firelands raid quest (2026) and from the Ulduar one (2026)
At the addon's 1 in 4,000, with four or five bosses a dungeon, some 800 to 1,000 dungeons would be expected. Players report it:
- on the first run
- after 546, 588 and 1,307 boss kills
- after about 3,700 tries
- not at all after 5,000 and 5,500
The time on site is one dungeon, the 15 minutes used for this guide's other Timewalking mounts. The dungeons are named above only because they are the common way; no place is given because the queue is entered from anywhere.
Timewalking is not on every week. The wiki lists ten events, six dungeons each, and a 2026 player comment has one about every third week; the in-game calendar shows the next. Lowest level by event (wiki); a character of level 80 or more also needs item level 180:
- Classic: 10
- The Burning Crusade and Wrath of the Lich King: 30
- Cataclysm and Mists of Pandaria: 35
- Warlords of Draenor: 40
- Legion: 45
- Battle for Azeroth: 50
- Shadowlands: 60
- Dragonflight (since June 2026): 70
Timewalking raids (wiki): Black Temple, Ulduar and Firelands, entered through an NPC in their event's week, each with a weekly quest, Disturbance Detected, that gives the cache; and Blackrock Depths in the Classic event, through the Raid Finder.
Two other sources on Wowhead's page were not followed up: the item Reins of the Quantum Courser, which by the comments turns into one of about ten mounts (this one in 4 of 73 recorded openings; a 2026 reply has it from Dawn of the Infinite on Mythic); and an object, Legacy of the Clan Leaders (12 in 5,408), which was not identified.
Level to learn it: the wiki's item box says 27; a 2025 comment says there is no level requirement any more. Another 2025 comment speaks of buying the reins from a friend, against the tooltip's 'Binds when picked up'; not followed up.
No guide is linked: it only takes running the dungeons. Wowhead's Timewalking Event Overview is listed on the item's page but was not opened.
Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
