How to get it

Reward of Bloodgazer Reunion, the last of fifteen daily steps set by the Bloodgazer Hatchling battle pet. The pet comes from Alluvanon's Delta in the north of Azsuna while the world quest Bloodgazer Swarm is up: kill and loot the Bloodgazer Matriarch, then feed Azsunian Grapes to the Orphaned Bloodgazer that appears. Summon the hatchling for one quest a day; the last sends it back to the same spot, where healing the matriarch gives the mount.

Time there about 5 min a visit

Guide Wowhead: Falcosaur! - Obtaining Falcosaur Mounts, Pets, Toys

Before you go

  • The world quest Bloodgazer Swarm up in Azsuna (the matriarch is only there then; such a quest stays about two days) and one Azsunian Grapes, sold in Azsuna and in Dalaran · about 0.25 h
  • Day 1: the Bloodgazer Hatchling raised to level 25, by pet battles or with a battle-training stone · about 1 h
  • Level-25 battle pets to fight beside the hatchling: two flying, two critters and two beasts
  • Fourteen more daily quests with the hatchling summoned, one a day: a visit to the inn in Silvermoon City (Horde) or The Exodar (Alliance); wild pet battles in Azsuna against three Erudite Manafiends, three Fledgling Kingfeathers, three Juvenile Scuttlebacks (with two flying pets) and three Felspiders (with two critters); 5 world quests in Azsuna; 3 pet-battle world quests, and later 3 more with two beast pets; one rare elite world quest; 3 PvP world quests; a Purple Blossom bought from Aerith Primrose in Dalaran; Serpentrix killed in the Eye of Azshara dungeon; Skorpyron killed in The Nighthold raid; and the return to Alluvanon's Delta · about 6 h over 2 weeks

In all: about 7.3 h of play, spread over 2 weeks, starting from nothing.

Getting there

Orphaned Bloodgazer, Alluvanon's Delta
Azsuna · 35.5, 7.4
/way Azsuna 35.5 7.4
From Stormwind (Alliance) about 1.4 min of travel
  1. Take the portal from Wizard's Sanctum to Azsuna*
  2. Fly the rest of the way
From Orgrimmar (Horde) about 1.4 min of travel
  1. Take the portal from Pathfinder's Den to Azsuna*
  2. Fly the rest of the way

/way is for the TomTom addon. Travel times are estimates: flying at 55 yards a second in a straight line and 30 seconds for a portal. A star marks a portal that needs a quest or other unlock done first.

Notes and sources

The orphan is at 35.46, 7.43 by Wowhead's guide, which puts the matriarch at about 35, 5; the wiki gives the orphan as 35.5, 7.5. The quest is level 45 and marked account-wide (wiki). The other three falcosaur mounts are earned the same way in Val'sharah, Stormheim and Highmountain.

Tips from the guide and its comments:

  • summon the hatchling before every fight and world quest, or it does not count
  • world bosses and dungeon world quests do not count as the rare elite one
  • world quests done from a vehicle may not count, because the pet is dismissed
  • the swarm quest need not be up for the last step
  • a full pet journal loses the pet on that character

Wowhead's guide counts fifteen days, with the levelling as day 1; the wiki calls it a fourteen-day chain. The quests, in order (wiki):

  • Raising Your Bloodgazer
  • The Smell of Blood Elves or The Smell of Draenei
  • Hunting Lesson: Erudite Manafiend
  • Allies in Azsuna
  • Bloodgazer Team Up
  • Dangerous Prey
  • Hunting Lesson: Fledgling Kingfeather
  • The Unfavorable Faction
  • Bloodgazer Bonding
  • Hunting Lesson: Juvenile Scuttleback
  • Teamwork Lesson: Serpentrix
  • Hunting Lesson: Felspider
  • Teamwork Lesson: Skorpyron
  • Bloodgazer Team Rumble
  • Bloodgazer Reunion

The Purple Blossom's price was not found; the wiki's pages for the quest, the item and the vendor do not give it. Whether Legion's PvP world quests still come up as often in Midnight was not checked.

Confidence is medium, not high, because Wowhead's guide is a user-submitted one last updated in 2021; its comments run to 2025 and describe the chain as working.

Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
