Look it up on WowheadHow to get it
The warlock's own second mount. A warlock has it on reaching level 17, with Apprentice Riding from a riding trainer and the first class mount, the Felsteed of level 10, already learned. No item, vendor or quest is involved: the quest chain that once earned it was taken out of the game with Cataclysm.
Before you go
- A warlock levelled to 17, with Apprentice Riding learned from a riding trainer (the Felsteed comes by itself at level 10) · about 2.5 h
In all: about 2.5 h of play, starting from nothing.
Getting there
There is nowhere to travel for this one.
Notes and sources
No place is given because there is nowhere to travel for the mount. The wiki gives level 17 with Apprentice Riding and the Felsteed as what it takes (40 and Journeyman Riding before patch 9.0.1), and warcraftmounts.com has warlocks earn their base class mounts at levels 10 and 17.
Neither says in so many words how the spell arrives today. The wiki's patch list has it learned automatically at 40 from patch 4.0.3a and 'can now be learned at level 17' from 9.0.1, which is read here as automatic at 17 once the riding skill is there; that reading, and what Apprentice Riding costs, were not checked in the game.
The journal files it under quests and says only 'Class: Warlock'; there is no item, and the quest is gone. The wiki names patch 4.0.1 in its text and 4.0.3a in its patch list for the removal of the quest chain. Wowhead's tooltip for the spell (23161) says only Requires Warlock.
The Codex of Xerrath turns its flames green; that is a look, not another mount.
