Sold by Xur'ios, the ethereal trader tucked behind the bank by the Antonidas Memorial in Dalaran (Broken Isles), for 150 Curious Coins. It is not always in stock: one of his items changes every day, and the turtle is one of the six it can be.
Time there about 2 min a visit
Before you go
- 150 Curious Coins, an occasional find all over Legion content: raid, dungeon and world bosses, emissary caches, the paragon caches of the Legion factions (one in each, sometimes two), Invasion Points on Argus and, rarely, rares and treasure chests. The coins can be moved between the characters of a Warband · about 30 h over 9 weeks
- Xur'ios has the turtle in stock that day: each day's item is drawn from six · 6 days
In all: about 30 h of play, spread over 9 weeks, starting from nothing.
Getting there
/way Dalaran 48.6 14.2 - Take the portal from Wizard's Sanctum to Azsuna*
- Fly the rest of the way
- Take the portal from Pathfinder's Den to Azsuna*
- Fly the rest of the way
/way is for the TomTom addon. Travel times are estimates: flying at 55 yards a second in a straight
line and 30 seconds for a portal. A star marks a portal that needs a quest or other unlock done first.
Notes and sources
The journal names only the vendor. Wowhead's vendor list has the price as 150 of currency 1275, Curious Coin, and the wiki agrees. Xur'ios is at 48.4-48.8, 13.4-14.8 by Wowhead's tooltip; the wiki gives 48.8, 13.6. This is the Dalaran of the Broken Isles, above the Broken Shore. The wiki's page for Xur'ios wonders whether he outlived the city's destruction in the story, but the Legion-era city is still there to visit and a 2026 comment has him selling.
On the stock: commenters post days the turtle is up, in 2025-2026: 4 August, 8, 19 and 27 September, 16 October, 26 November and 1 February, mostly on EU realms. That shows it still comes round but is too thin a record to test the one in six. A 2025 comment notes that Wowhead's front page shows it under Today in WoW, filter Legion, some hours after the daily reset.
The coins are the whole cost, and no source gives a rate for 2026: Wowhead holds no loot counts for a currency, and the comments range from one coin in two weeks at Legion's launch to the figures given above, after patches 7.1.5 and 7.2.5 raised the drop rate (wiki; 7.2.5 'significantly'). A 2025 commenter names Antorus bosses (one or two coins at a time) and the emissary and paragon caches of the Army of the Light and the Argussian Reach as the sources seen most often. One of 2018 counted 4 coins in 2 paragon caches and 1 in four Raid Finder wings of Antorus, and found world rares close to worthless for it.
The coin has been Warband Transferable since patch 11.0 (wiki): it is pulled to the character that is logged in, from the Currency tab, so several characters can gather for one purchase.
Wowhead also lists Hemet Nesingwary XVII, a vendor of the Legion Remix event, who sold the turtle for 100,000 Bronze; that event ended on 19 January 2026 (Blizzard's news) and is not a way to get it now. The item binds to the Warband and asks for level 17 and Apprentice Riding (wiki; warcraftmounts.com says level 10).
Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
