How to get it

Reward of the mage quest Dispersion of the Discs, the last of five quests that Invoker Threadgold starts at Deliverance Point on the Broken Shore with Avocation of Antonidas. Archmage Kalec in the Hall of the Guardian sends the mage after the three pieces of Antonidas's disc (in Dalaran, under Karazhan and at the Ruins of Alterac) and then holds a trial in the Eye of Eternity, where the elemental bound in each piece is fought down.

Before you go

  • Mage class hall campaign on this character, through to its last champion (Aethas Sunreaver), with mission-table waits · about 5 h over 2 days
  • Breaching the Tomb, once per account (the Legionfall campaign on the Broken Shore) · about 8 h over 1 days
  • The five quests: Avocation of Antonidas (to Archmage Kalec in the Hall of the Guardian), Close to Home (Archmage Celindra, the portal trainer in Dalaran), Burning Within (Khadgar, then Archmage Alturus outside Karazhan and through the Master's Cellar to the portal to his sanctum), Chilled to the Core (the portal to Dalaran Crater, Archmage Cedric, then the ogre Ok'rok Icetouch at the Ruins of Alterac), Dispersion of the Discs (the trial in the Eye of Eternity: the Primal Rage of Frost, of Fire and of the Arcane) · about 1 h

In all: about 14 h of play, spread over 2 days, starting from nothing.

Getting there

Invoker Threadgold, Deliverance Point (start of the chain)
Broken Shore · 45.2, 61.8
/way Broken Shore 45.2 61.8
From Stormwind (Alliance) about 2.1 min of travel
  1. Take the portal from Wizard's Sanctum to Azsuna*
  2. Fly the rest of the way
From Orgrimmar (Horde) about 2.1 min of travel
  1. Take the portal from Pathfinder's Den to Azsuna*
  2. Fly the rest of the way

/way is for the TomTom addon. Travel times are estimates: flying at 55 yards a second in a straight line and 30 seconds for a portal. A star marks a portal that needs a quest or other unlock done first.

Notes and sources

Mages only; all five quests ask for level 45 (wiki). No item teaches this mount: the quest casts it on the character, which is why no item is listed. Its colour follows the specialization: purple for Arcane, orange for Fire, blue for Frost (Wowhead's guide).

The requirements are from the wiki's patch 9.1.5 notes: Breaching the Tomb on one character of the account is enough to begin the class mount quests, but each character still finishes its own class hall campaign and recruits its last order hall champion. The achievement itself has been account-wide since patch 11.0.0 (wiki). On the wiki's page Avocation of Antonidas follows Strike Them Down, the last Legionfall quest.

The place given above is where the chain is picked up, as for the other class mounts: Threadgold, at Wowhead's tooltip position for npc 117770 (the wiki has 45.2, 61.7). The rest of the chain is in the Hall of the Guardian, Dalaran, Karazhan's cellar, the Ruins of Alterac and the Eye of Eternity. The wiki warns that leaving the last scenario loses all progress in it. A hotfix of 7 November 2025 mended the chain for Legion Remix mages (wiki).

The class hall and Legionfall times were not measured for a mage; they are carried over from the hunter and death knight class mounts.

Guides:

  • Wowhead's Obtaining Legion Class Mounts (updated 2025) gives the requirements for every class but not the quests themselves, and still asks for 'all the steps of Breaching the Tomb' without saying that one character per account is enough.
  • Wowhead's walkthrough of the mage quests is a preview written from the 7.2 test realm in 2017.
  • Warcraft Tavern's guide was written for Legion Remix but walks through the same quests in more detail, the last class hall chain (the champion Aethas Sunreaver) among them.

Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
