Reward of the monk quest The Trial of Ban-Lu, the last of a chain of ten. Yiska at Deliverance Point on the Broken Shore starts it with Master Who?, which sends the monk to Master Bu in Morning Breeze Village on the Wandering Isle, above the monk class hall. The chain then follows Master Bu through Kun-Lai Summit: pawprints in the snow from the Peak of Serenity to Neverest Basecamp, three parts of a grummel's luckydo, the sha remnants at the Shado-Pan Monastery, and Waterspeaker Ryuli at Inkgill Mere, who wants six Moon Lilies. The last quest is a fight with Ban-Lu on Lake Kittitata in the Jade Forest; back on the Wandering Isle Ban-Lu himself hands over the mount.

Before you go
- Monk class hall campaign on this character, through to its last champion (Brewer Almai, recruited by a chain that starts in the Temple of Five Dawns with A Brewing Situation once Champions of Legionfall is picked up from Maiev Shadowsong at Deliverance Point), with mission-table waits · about 5 h over 2 days
- Breaching the Tomb, once per account (the Legionfall campaign on the Broken Shore); a later character still plays the campaign's opening quests, Armies of Legionfall and Assault on Broken Shore · about 8 h over 1 days
- The ten quests: Master Who?, The Tale of Ban-Lu, Return to the Broken Peak, The Trail of Ban-Lu, Smelly's Luckydo, The Shadow of Ban-Lu, Clean-up on Aisle Sha, The River to Ban-Lu, Lilies for Ryuli and The Trial of Ban-Lu · about 1 h
In all: about 14 h of play, spread over 2 days, starting from nothing.
Getting there
/way Broken Shore 44.8 62 - Take the portal from Wizard's Sanctum to Azsuna*
- Fly the rest of the way
- Take the portal from Pathfinder's Den to Azsuna*
- Fly the rest of the way
/way is for the TomTom addon. Travel times are estimates: flying at 55 yards a second in a straight
line and 30 seconds for a portal. A star marks a portal that needs a quest or other unlock done first.
Notes and sources
Monks only; the quests ask for level 45 (wiki). The journal names only the last quest. The place given above is where the chain is picked up, as for the other class mounts: Yiska (npc 118214), at 44.8, 62.0 on the Broken Shore by Wowhead's tooltip and 45.0, 62.0 by the wiki.
The chain, from Warcraft Tavern's guide, the wiki and Wowhead's preview:
- Master Who?: from Yiska, Zen Pilgrimage to the class hall, the Transportation Mandala to the upper level and the western bridge to Morning Breeze Village, where Master Bu is in the first building (32.3, 43.4 on the Wandering Isle, wiki)
- The Tale of Ban-Lu: listen to his story
- Return to the Broken Peak: the portal to the Peak of Serenity by the fountain on the temple's south stairs; Bu is down a flight of stairs outside
- The Trail of Ban-Lu: click the pawprints in the snow, each showing the next, over the hill to Neverest Basecamp
- Smelly's Luckydo: three Parts of Smelly's Luckydo from the Hozen Snowthumpers nearby, for Smelly Mountaintop
- The Shadow of Ban-Lu: fly west to the Shado-Pan Monastery
- Clean-up on Aisle Sha: Commander Shen-li lets the monk in; the Remnants of Anger are run over, not fought
- The River to Ban-Lu: to Waterspeaker Ryuli in a building at Inkgill Mere, in the south-east of Kun-Lai Summit (73.9, 89.0, wiki; wow.gg 74.2, 88.8)
- Lilies for Ryuli: six Moon Lilies from the ponds north of the Temple of the White Tiger
- The Trial of Ban-Lu: east past the waterfall to the Circle of Scale in Lake Kittitata (23.4, 35.0 in the Jade Forest), where Ban-Lu is fought on the water with water walking given; his Piercing Cry is to be interrupted and the Jade Orbs avoided (wiki)
Zen Pilgrimage then leads back to the class hall, where Ban-Lu waits north-west of the temple across a short wooden bridge (41.8, 25.2, wiki; Warcraft Tavern calls the place the Shrine of Inner-Light) and gives the mount with a short cutscene. A 2017 Wowhead comment says it goes straight into the collection when the quest is handed in.
Requirements: Wowhead's guide (updated 2025, as read in 2026) asks for the Broken Shore unlocked with Assault on Broken Shore at level 45, 'all the steps of Breaching the Tomb', and the class hall campaign with its last follower for Champions of Legionfall; after that 'a "go fetch" quest located at Deliverance Point' starts the mount quest.
For a later character the sources agree that the whole Legionfall campaign is not repeated but differ on how much is:
- Warcraft Tavern: its first two quests
- a 2024 Wowhead comment: the first seven quests of the achievement, begun with Armies of Legionfall from Khadgar in Dalaran, skipping the scenario
- a 2023 comment: Uniting the Isles from Khadgar, the class hall campaign ('roughly a couple of days', with timed missions), the start of the Legionfall campaign, Champions of Legionfall from Maiev, the new champion's chain, then the mount quest at Deliverance Point, which may take a relog to show
Replies of 2025 tell of players with the achievement who were not offered the quest; the answers given are that it starts at Deliverance Point and that the champion's chain in the class hall has to be finished first. That last champion's chain, by Warcraft Tavern:
- A Brewing Situation
- Panic at the Brewery (a scenario at Stormstout Brewery in which Detox is used on the brewers)
- Storming the Legion
- Fel Ingredients
- Barrel Toss
- Alchemist Korlya
- Hope for a Cure
- Not Felling Well
- A Time for Everything
- Champion: Almai
Warcraft Tavern's guide was written for Legion Remix; its warnings about being 'outside the timeline' and being sent to Dalaran for wandering may belong to that event only. The class hall and Legionfall times were not measured for a monk; they are carried over from the other class mounts, and the once-per-account rule for Breaching the Tomb was not read on the wiki again for this mount.
The mount flies, has one look for all specializations and talks to its rider (Wowhead's guide); a 2025 comment reports some of its animations broken since the Legion Remix patch.
Guides: Wowhead's 2017 preview is a short outline written from the 7.2 test realm. wow.gg's page (updated 2026) lists the same ten quests and requirements and is not linked.
Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
