Look it up on WowheadHow to get it
Sold by Lelanai, the saber handler in Bel'ameth under Amirdrassil, for 10 gold. Night elves buy it outright; every other Alliance race has to be Exalted with Darnassus first.
Time there about 2 min a visit
Before you go
- Exalted with Darnassus (night elves skip this): wear the Darnassus Tabard, 10 silver from Moon Priestess Lasara at the Terrace of the Moon in Bel'ameth, and clear dungeons · about 3 h
- 10 gold
In all: about 3 h of play, 10 gold, starting from nothing.
Getting there
/way Amirdrassil 51.4 65.8 - Take the portal from Stormwind to Bel'ameth*
- Fly the rest of the way
/way is for the TomTom addon. Travel times are estimates: flying at 55 yards a second in a straight
line and 30 seconds for a portal. A star marks a portal that needs a quest or other unlock done first.
Notes and sources
Lelanai sells the Reins of the Swift Frostsaber at 10 gold beside the other six sabers (the wiki's page for her). The place given above is Bel'ameth on the Amirdrassil map (npc 216677; 51.4, 66.0 on the wiki, 51.4, 65.8 by Wowhead's tooltip as read for the Swift Mistsaber). She also stands in the Cenarion Enclave of old Darnassus (npc 4730; 42.8, 32.3), which burned with Teldrassil and is only reached through Zidormi in Darkshore.
Bel'ameth was added in patch 10.2.5; the Alliance reaches it by the portal in Stormwind's Wizard's Sanctum, or by flying west out of the Ohn'ahran Plains (wiki, as read for the Swift Mistsaber).
The same page has the rule: 'Only night elves can buy from Lelanai by default; other characters must be exalted with Darnassus.' The journal, Wowhead's tooltip and the wiki's own page for the reins still give the place as Darnassus, and that page lists no reputation, only 'Alliance Only'. The reins ask for level 17 and Apprentice Riding since patch 9.0.1 (wiki).
These notes follow those for the Swift Mistsaber and the Swift Stormsaber, which are sold by the same vendor on the same terms; the place, the reputation requirement and its hours are theirs and were not researched again. For the Swift Mistsaber, Wowhead's sold-by list had 10 gold in Bel'ameth and 8 gold from the old Darnassus Lelanai, which is the price less the Exalted discount; that list was not read for this item. Which dungeons count for the tabard in the current patch was not established.
wow.gg's guides to those two sabers contradict themselves on Revered or Exalted and are not linked; no guide is linked here either. Wowhead was not consulted for this mount beyond the item tooltip.
