How to get it

Reward of the shaman quest Gathering of the Storms, the second of two quests. Orono at Deliverance Point on the Broken Shore starts Carried On the Wind, which sends the shaman back to Consular Celestos in the class hall (the Heart of Azeroth, at the Maelstrom); Celestos then opens a scenario at the Throne of the Four Winds in Skywall, where the three Lords of Wind (Anshal, Nezir and Rohash) are fought until they yield to Thunderaan.

Guides Wowhead: Obtaining Legion Class Mounts · Wowhead: Shaman Class Mount and Quest - Farseer's Raging Tempest (2017 preview) · Warcraft Tavern: Shaman Class Mount Guide (written for Legion Remix)

Before you go

  • Shaman class hall campaign on this character, through to its last champion (Magatha Grimtotem, recruited by a chain that Advisor Sevel starts in the class hall once Champions of Legionfall is picked up at Deliverance Point), with mission-table waits · about 5 h over 2 days
  • Breaching the Tomb, once per account (the Legionfall campaign on the Broken Shore) · about 8 h over 1 days
  • The two quests: Carried On the Wind (from Orono to Consular Celestos at the wind shrine of the class hall), then Gathering of the Storms (speak with Celestos, the scenario at the Throne of the Four Winds: talk to Thunderaan, bring Anshal, Nezir and Rohash low on their three platforms, take a whirlwind to the middle platform for Thunderaan's speech, and return to Celestos) · about 0.5 h

In all: about 13.5 h of play, spread over 2 days, starting from nothing.

Getting there

Orono, Deliverance Point (start of the chain)
Broken Shore · 44.6, 61.4
/way Broken Shore 44.6 61.4
From Stormwind (Alliance) about 2.1 min of travel
  1. Take the portal from Wizard's Sanctum to Azsuna*
  2. Fly the rest of the way
From Orgrimmar (Horde) about 2.1 min of travel
  1. Take the portal from Pathfinder's Den to Azsuna*
  2. Fly the rest of the way

/way is for the TomTom addon. Travel times are estimates: flying at 55 yards a second in a straight line and 30 seconds for a portal. A star marks a portal that needs a quest or other unlock done first.

Notes and sources

Shamans only; both quests ask for level 45 (wiki). The quest teaches the mount directly; the item behind it (143489, Raging Tempest Totem) binds when picked up. Its look follows the specialization: fire for Elemental, air (storm) for Enhancement, water for Restoration (wiki, Wowhead).

The requirements are from the wiki's patch 9.1.5 notes: Breaching the Tomb on one character of the account is enough to begin the class mount quests on the Broken Shore, but each character must still complete its class hall campaign and recruit its final order hall champion. The achievement itself has been account-wide since patch 11.0.0 (wiki). On the wiki's page Carried On the Wind follows Strike Them Down, the last Legionfall quest.

The place given above is where the chain is picked up, as for the other class mounts: Orono, at Wowhead's tooltip positions for npc 117888 (44.6, 61.4 and 44.6, 61.6); the wiki has 44.7, 61.5. The rest of the chain is in the class hall, where the wiki has Consular Celestos at 28.2, 45.0, and in the scenario.

In the scenario the wiki advises Cleanse Spirit against Anshal's Healing Swell (at 10 stacks it heals the enemies) and Ghost Wolf against Rohash's Sandstorm, which pushes the shaman off the platform. Warcraft Tavern says the three lords stop fighting at about 10% health. A hotfix of 7 November 2025 mended the chain for Legion Remix shamans (wiki).

The class hall and Legionfall times were not measured for a shaman; they are carried over from the hunter and death knight class mounts.

Guides:

  • Wowhead's Obtaining Legion Class Mounts (updated 2025) gives the requirements for every class but only two lines on the shaman, and still asks for 'all the steps of Breaching the Tomb' without saying that one character per account is enough. Its walkthrough of the shaman scenario is a preview written from the 7.2 test realm in 2017.
  • Warcraft Tavern's guide was written for Legion Remix but walks through the same quests, the last class hall chain (Magatha Grimtotem and the Doomstone) among them.
  • wow.gg's guide (updated 2026) is not linked: it calls the quests 'On the Wings of the Wind' and 'The Storm Gathers' and the quest giver 'Thuk the Defiant', names no other source uses.

Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
