How to get it

Sold as Stoic Reins of the Vigilant Charger by Crusader Lord Dalfors in the Sanctum of Light, the paladin class hall beneath Light's Hope Chapel, for 1,000 Order Resources. He offers it to a paladin who already has the Highlord's Golden Charger, the class mount from the quest Stirring in the Shadows.

Notes and sources

Paladins only; the item asks for level 45 and Apprentice Riding (wiki). Sold by Crusader Lord Dalfors (npc 99976) for 1,000 Order Resources (currency 1220), by Wowhead's sold-by list (read in 2026); the journal gives no cost. The wiki and Wowhead's guide (updated 2025) agree; the guide has the Golden Charger from the class quest and 'the other three are purchased from Crusader Lord Dalfors afterwards'. He sells the Vengeful and the Valorous Charger on the same terms.

Until patch 8.0.1 the item also asked for every trait of the Protection artifact, Truthguard (wiki), which is where the 2017 comments about being in the right specialization come from; a 2018 comment says it can simply be bought once the quest chain is done.

The chain for the first mount hides two errands outside the class hall. The first is the Suramarian Sapphire, which costs 500 Ancient Mana; the wiki says the merchant only deals with a character that has finished the Suramar quest Masquerade. A 2020 comment lists the Nightfallen quests that lead to it, from Khadgar in Dalaran through Shal'Aran to Masquerade, about 16 quests. A 2023 reply found the Ancient Mana cap still at its starting 300, below the price; the wiki says the cap is raised by items and quests in Suramar, up to 2,000.

The second is the Stonehide Leather Barding, which takes 50 Stonehide Leather by the wiki, 25 by the 2017 comment. The wiki's quest pages say the barding and the ore may also be got from others.

Since patch 9.1.5 Breaching the Tomb on one character of the account is enough, but each character still finishes its own class hall campaign (the wiki's patch notes). A hotfix of 7 November 2025 mended the chain for Legion Remix paladins (wiki). The class hall and Legionfall times were not measured for a paladin, and how fast Order Resources come in today was not measured.

The coordinates are the middle of Wowhead's tooltip positions for Dalfors on the Sanctum of Light map (51.4-52.4, 73.4-76.8); the game's map table calls that map Light's Hope Chapel, the zone name used here. The wiki has Lord Grayson Shadowbreaker close by at 52.3, 78.1. The sanctum lies under Light's Hope Chapel in the Eastern Plaguelands and has a portal to Dalaran (wiki); how a paladin gets in from Dalaran was not looked up.

Wowhead's guide gives the requirements for every class but not the quests themselves.

Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
