Look it up on WowheadHow to get it
Sold by Katie Stokx, the horse breeder next to SI:7 just outside Old Town in Stormwind City, for 10 gold. A human buys it outright; any other Alliance race has to be Exalted with Stormwind first. Katie Hunter at the Eastvale Logging Camp in Elwynn Forest and Gregor MacVince in Theramore are listed as selling it as well.
Time there about 2 min a visit
Before you go
- Exalted with Stormwind, unless the buyer is a human: the Stormwind Tabard from Captain Lancy Revshon in the Trade District, worn in dungeons, turns their reputation into Stormwind's; quests in Elwynn Forest, Westfall, Redridge Mountains, Duskwood and the other Stormwind zones count too · about 4 h
- 10 gold
In all: about 4 h of play, 10 gold, starting from nothing.
Getting there

/way is for the TomTom addon. Travel times are estimates: flying at 55 yards a second in a straight
line and 30 seconds for a portal.
Notes and sources
The vendor sells the Swift Brown Steed and the Swift Palomino at the same price, so the three are one visit. Coordinates are the wiki's (77.0, 67.8), the same as for Katie Stokx's other horses in this guide.
The journal leaves out the reputation. The wiki's page for the vendor says only humans can buy from Katie by default and other characters must be Exalted with Stormwind, and her gossip says the same (she is 'not disposed to sell horses to any individual who is not considered to be at least exalted'). That was not confirmed in the game, and whether a Kul Tiran counts as a human here was not established. The mount is account-wide once learned, so any human on the account can buy it and skip the reputation.
The time given for the reputation is the weak figure, as for the Chestnut Mare: the wiki gives no amounts for the capital cities' tabards and does not say where a non-human starts with Stormwind, so 42,000 from Neutral may overstate it.
The item asks for level 17 and Apprentice Riding (wiki, since patch 9.0.1) and sells back for 2 gold 50 silver. Wowhead was not consulted beyond the item tooltip; the wiki answers everything here, and the vendor is the one already looked up for the Chestnut Mare and the Swift Brown Steed.
Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
