Sold as Hellblazing Reins of the Brimstone Wrathsteed by Calydus in the Dreadscar Rift, the warlock class hall, for 1,000 Order Resources. He offers it to a warlock who already has the Netherlord's Chaotic Wrathsteed, the class mount from the quest The Wrathsteed of Xoroth.
Time there about 2 min a visit
Before you go
- The Netherlord's Chaotic Wrathsteed first: the warlock class hall campaign, Breaching the Tomb once per account, then the chain that Elithys Firestorm starts at Deliverance Point on the Broken Shore (43.8, 63.2): Bloodbringer's Missive (to Mor'zul Bloodbringer in the Dreadscar Rift), the four quests If You Build It, Fel to the Core, Give Me Fuel and Give Me Fire, then The Minions of Hel'nurath, The Dreadlord's Calling and The Wrathsteed of Xoroth, a scenario on the Summoning Platform of the Dreadscar Rift · about 14.5 h over 3 days
- 1,000 Order Resources (Legion class hall currency: looted from mobs and treasure chests on the Broken Isles and paid by class campaign quests) · about 0.5 h
In all: about 15 h of play, spread over 3 days, starting from nothing.

/way is for the TomTom addon. Travel times are estimates: flying at 55 yards a second in a straight

Notes and sources
Warlocks only; the item asks for level 45 and Apprentice Riding (wiki). It is bought from Calydus in the Dreadscar Rift after unlocking the class mount; the journal gives no cost.
The price: the wiki, Wowhead's guide (updated 2025: bought from Calydus after unlocking the class mount, 1,000 Order Resources) and the best-rated Wowhead comment (2017) all say 1,000. Wowhead's list of what Calydus sells carries the item twice, at 1,000 and at 10,000 of currency 1220 (Order Resources), both with the condition 'Complete your Order Hall Campaign', and the sold-by list on the item's own page shows only the 10,000 row. Which characters are shown the dearer row was not established; 1,000 is used here. How fast Order Resources come in today was not measured.
Calydus is one of the warlock's class hall champions and is not at his spot while he is away on a mission or set as the combat ally: commenters (2017 to 2022) say to take him off duty at the mission table and leave and re-enter the Dreadscar Rift. A 2026 reply claims the Balance of Power quest line is needed for it; nothing else read supports that. A 2025 comment bought it in Legion Remix after the warlock campaign. Until patch 8.0.1 the item also asked for the achievement Power Ascended (wiki), which is where older comments about artifact traits come from.
The coordinates are the middle of Wowhead's positions for Calydus on the Dreadscar Rift map (36.4-38.0, 30.4-32.8); Wowhead's tooltip for him only carries his spot in Dalaran's Underbelly, and the wiki gives none. The Dreadscar Rift is a world of its own, entered by the warlocks' portal in Dalaran above the Broken Isles; where that portal stands was not looked up, and other classes cannot enter.
The chain for the first mount, the Netherlord's Chaotic Wrathsteed (wiki): Bloodbringer's Missive follows Strike Them Down, the last Legionfall quest, and it and The Wrathsteed of Xoroth ask for level 45. Mor'zul Bloodbringer stands at 36.0, 37.8 in the Dreadscar Rift. In the scenario the acolytes' fel shield is taken off by a Felhunter's Devour Magic, Arax'ath is defeated and the wrathsteed is then enslaved. Since patch 9.1.5 Breaching the Tomb on one character of the account is enough, but each character still finishes its own class hall campaign and recruits its last champion (the wiki's patch notes). The class hall and Legionfall times were not measured for a warlock.
The third colour, the Netherlord's Accursed Wrathsteed, drops from Lord Hel'nurath on the Broken Shore (wiki, Wowhead's guide). Wowhead's guide gives the requirements for every class but not the quests themselves.
Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
