How to get it

Chance item in the Valarjar Strongbox, the paragon cache of the Valarjar. Once Exalted, every further 10,000 reputation opens the quest Supplies From the Valarjar at Valdemar Stormseeker in Valdisdall, Stormheim, which hands over one strongbox.

Chance 4.68% per try, so about 21 tries on average — Wowhead: 2,294 mounts in 49,068 recorded Valarjar Strongboxes (read 2026-10-10), pooled over all years since patch 7.2

Guide Wowhead: Valarjar Reputation Guide

Before you go

  • Exalted with the Valarjar: the Stormheim storyline (to about Honored), then Stormheim world quests and the Valarjar emissary (four of its world quests, 1,500 reputation each time it comes up) · about 8 h over 3 weeks
  • 10,000 Valarjar reputation past Exalted for each strongbox (same sources) · about 4 h over 12 days

In all: about 12 h of play, spread over 3 weeks, starting from nothing.

/way is for the TomTom addon. Travel times are estimates: flying at 55 yards a second in a straight line and 30 seconds for a portal. A star marks a portal that needs a quest or other unlock done first.

Notes and sources

One roll per strongbox, and each strongbox costs another 10,000 reputation, so there is no lockout, only the time to refill the bar; about 21 strongboxes are expected at 4.68%. Single reports on Wowhead run from the first or second box to about 80 without the mount; a 2022 comment speaks of a bad-luck protection, which nothing else confirms. The strongbox also holds gold, Order Resources and sometimes a Curious Coin (wiki).

The Kirin Tor emissary lets the player pick a Greater Valarjar Insignia (1,500), and treasure chests drop Valarjar Insignias (250). Wowhead's Valarjar guide (written for patch 7.3.5) says reputation tokens such as the Greater Insignias do not count towards paragon reputation, while a 2024 Wowhead comment advises buying reputation tokens with Timewalking Badges for exactly this; which holds today was not established.

Whether the Valarjar bar is shared across a warband was not looked up; the Cloudwing Hippogryph's notes take the Legion factions as one bar per character. The mount was also sold by Hemet Nesingwary XVII for 20,000 Bronze during Legion Remix (wiki; Wowhead still lists him), an event that the same notes say has ended.

Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
