How to get it

Very rare drop from Argus the Unmaker, the last boss of Antorus, the Burning Throne, on Mythic difficulty only; it comes out of The Pantheon's Bounty, the chest he leaves. Argus is reached by clearing the raid, or, once the quest The Heart of Argus is done, by a teleport past the middle of the raid once Garothi Worldbreaker is dead.

Chance 0.79% once a week, so about 127 tries on average — Wowhead (item page read 2026-10-11): 362 mounts in 46,094 recorded openings of The Pantheon's Bounty, the chest Argus leaves. The page does not split that count by difficulty or by date, and the mount is Mythic-only and was a guaranteed drop until patch 8.0.1 (wiki), so it is a rough figure; Wowhead's row for Argus himself has no count, and its tooltip none. Blizzard published no chance. wow.gg says 0.8 to 1% from community estimates, and Wowhead commenters speak of a 1% drop

Guide wow.gg: Shackled Ur'zul

Before you go

  • Argus campaign far enough for the Vindicaar to reach the Antoran Wastes: the Broken Shore assault, The Hand of Fate from Dalaran and the Krokuun chapter, The Assault Begins, as far as The Burning Heart, whose objective is to use the Navigation Console to travel to the Antoran Wastes · about 3 h

In all: about 3 h of play, starting from nothing.

Getting there

  2. Use the Lightforged Beacon on Krasus' Landing in Dalaran to teleport to the Vindicaar*
  3. Fly to the Navigation Console to traverse Argus
  4. Ride the rest of the way
From Orgrimmar (Horde) about 6.1 min of travel

  2. Use the Lightforged Beacon on Krasus' Landing in Dalaran to teleport to the Vindicaar*
  3. Fly to the Navigation Console to traverse Argus

/way is for the TomTom addon. Travel times are estimates: flying at 55 yards a second in a straight line and 30 seconds for a portal. A star marks a portal that needs a quest or other unlock done first.

Notes and sources

Mythic only: nothing drops on the other difficulties (wow.gg; Wowhead lists it for Mythic only), and Mythic has one lockout a week for each character. About 127 kills are expected at 0.79%, a hundred at 1%. Reports in Wowhead comments: 414 attempts (2022), 264 without it (2025), seven years of weekly kills (2025), and many first-to-twentieth kills. Comments of 2025 got it during the Collector's Bounty event, which raised drop chances for a time.

The mount is one roll for the whole raid, not one for each player: a 2022 comment explains that under legacy loot it is no longer personal loot, so every extra player in the raid shares the same single chance.

The skips (wiki, Raid skip): the quest The Heart of Argus (four kills of Aggramar) opens a teleport past the middle of the raid after Garothi Worldbreaker, and Dark Passage (four of Imonar the Soulhunter) one to Imonar. wow.gg calls the second The Dark Corridor and says the Mythic one has to be earned on Mythic. The wiki says skips are warband-wide once unlocked; a 2024 comment found every character on the account had it after two had earned it, and wow.gg dates that to patch 11.0.5.

Until the skip is earned the whole raid has to be cleared on Mythic four times; commenters single out Eonar, where the Paraxis ship has to be dealt with as well as the waves (comments of 2025). Argus dies once by design: in his last phase the raid is wiped and raised again by the titans (wow.gg).

The time on the spot is an estimate without the skip, from wow.gg's figures (5 to 8 minutes with it, and 15 to 20 saved by it); with it a 2024 comment gives 6 to 10 minutes from hearthstone to chest.

The way to the door, by wow.gg:

  • the Lightforged Beacon at Krasus' Landing in Dalaran to the Vindicaar
  • the Navigation Console to Light's Purchase in the Antoran Wastes
  • west through the Stasis Core
  • north-west at the fork near the Felfire Armory
  • down to the fel river and south along the canyon to its end

The entrance coordinates are from the game's own table; wow.gg's waypoint reads 11.49, 87.13, which does not fit that map and was not used. No flying on Argus.

Other ways the item has turned up, none counted here. Wowhead lists it in the Unclaimed Black Market Container (2 in 405), and the wiki says it can appear on the Black Market Auction House. Wowhead also lists a vendor, Hemet Nesingwary XVII, at 100,000 of a currency (id 3252), which comments of 2025 tie to the Legion Remix event, when the mount was handed out widely; whether anything of that event remains was not looked into. The Antoran Charhound has the same vendor.

A red copy, the Snarling Ur'zul, was added to the Legion Timewalking vendor in January 2025 and is a different mount. The item binds when picked up and asks for level 45 (wiki).

Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
