Notes and sources
About 29 kills are expected at 3.48%, 20 at the guide's 5%. Players on Wowhead report it at 2, 12, 15, 54, 58, 95, 140 and 333 kills, and others at more than 500 without it. Commenters since 2017 hold that this is the rarest of the Argus rare mounts; the recorded count does not settle that.
The rare is not always there. All Argus rares run on a four-hour cycle, a set being up and respawning for four hours and then gone, and a rare that is the target of a world quest (here the quest named Houndmaster Kerrax) keeps respawning for as long as the quest is up (Wowhead guide; a 2017 comment says the same). So a visit can find the cave empty; how often he is in the set that is up was not established.
Each character can loot him once a day (Wowhead guide; a 2017 comment gives the tracking quest as 48821), so several characters can each try on the same day.
The place given above is the guide's waypoint for the rare, 63.8, 22.0. Wowhead's tooltip has six points between 63.2, 23.6 and 64.0, 21.4, and comments of 2017 put the cave entrance at 63.1, 25.2; the wiki gives no coordinates. Argus is taken to have no flying, as for the other Argus mounts; not checked in the game.
The mount binds when picked up and asks for level 10 (wiki); comments disagree on whether a second copy could be handed to another member of the group. It also turns up on the Black Market (wiki, Wowhead). Wowhead's sold-by tab lists Hemet Nesingwary XVII selling it for 40,000 of currency 3252, the Bronze of Legion Remix; that event ran from 7 October 2025 to 19 January 2026 (wiki) and is over.
No guide for this mount alone was found (wow.gg has none); the Wowhead guide linked covers all the Argus rares in one section.
Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
