How to get it

Very rare drop from the blood trolls of Nazmir: the item Reins of a Tamed Bloodfeaster can fall from any of the 27 kinds of blood troll Wowhead lists in the zone. The usual place to hunt is inside the shell of the dead turtle at Torga's Rest, where Loa-Gutter Drudges stand close together and come back quickly.

Chance 12% per try, so about 8 tries on average — Worked out, not read as such. Wowhead's item page (read 2026-10-10) records 1,952 reins in 6,011,699 loots over the 27 blood troll creatures it lists, 0.032% a kill or about 1 in 3,080, most of it from 2018. 12% is that figure for one hour's visit at about 400 kills (1 - (1 - 0.000325)^400); the kill rate is an estimate from a Wowhead comment of 2024 (3,500 kills in 9 hours). For Loa-Gutter Drudges alone Wowhead has 312 in 466,036 (0.067%). The tooltip gives no figure

Notes and sources

About 3,080 kills are expected at Wowhead's pooled rate, some eight hours of killing. Player reports are far apart, and the recent ones are worse than the count suggests. On Wowhead:

  • one player got it after 5,433 Drudge kills in Torga's shell (2024)
  • one got it as a chance find near Heart of Darkness (2025)
  • others report nothing after 10,000, 13,817, 25,000 and about 50,000 kills (2025-2026)

The present chance may therefore be lower than the recorded one; nothing official was found.

The journal names only the zone. The coordinates are the middle of Wowhead's spawn points for the Loa-Gutter Drudge (58.4-61.6, 17.4-23.8). A wow.gg page gives about 0.2% from two rare blood witches; that page is muddled (it links another mount) and was not used, though Wowhead does show the highest rates on the Nazmani Blood Witch (70 in 29,664) and Blood Witch Najima (26 in 13,121).

The item does not bind when picked up (wiki), so it can change hands.

Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
