How to get it

Rare drop from Wrangler Kravos, a rare elite at Azurelight Square in the middle of Eredath (the zone called Mac'Aree until patch 9.1.5) on Argus. He gives loot to a character once a day. Eredath is reached from the Vindicaar.

Chance 3.65% once a day, so about 27 tries on average — Wowhead's page for the mount (read 2026-10-11): 1,670 in 45,811 recorded loots of Wrangler Kravos, which is 3.65%, the same figure its tooltip shows

Time there about 5 min a visit

Guide Wowhead: Comprehensive Argus Guide

Before you go

  • Argus campaign far enough for the Vindicaar to reach Eredath: at level 45, with Assault on Broken Shore done once on the account, The Hand of Fate from Khadgar in Dalaran, the whole first chapter (The Assault Begins, 35 quests in Krokuun and the Antoran Wastes) and the second chapter (Dark Awakenings) as far as its fifteenth quest, Eredath, Jewel of Argus · about 3.5 h

In all: about 3.5 h of play, starting from nothing.

Getting there

  2. Use the Lightforged Beacon on Krasus' Landing in Dalaran to teleport to the Vindicaar*
  3. Fly to the Navigation Console to traverse Argus
  4. Ride the rest of the way
From Orgrimmar (Horde) about 6.2 min of travel
  1. Take the portal from Pathfinder's Den to Azsuna*
  2. Use the Lightforged Beacon on Krasus' Landing in Dalaran to teleport to the Vindicaar*
  3. Fly to the Navigation Console to traverse Argus
  4. Ride the rest of the way

/way is for the TomTom addon. Travel times are estimates: flying at 55 yards a second in a straight line and 30 seconds for a portal. A star marks a portal that needs a quest or other unlock done first.

Notes and sources

About 27 looted kills are expected at 3.65%; Wowhead commenters report it after 1, 4, 20, 35, 40, 94, 147 and 176 kills. Once a day per character: a much-liked 2017 comment gives the rule for all the mount rares of Argus and a macro that reads one hidden quest for each (48695 for Kravos).

The rare is not always there. A 2017 comment describes the Argus rares as rotating in windows of about four hours, within which a rare respawns and outside which it is gone, with no more than one of the mount-dropping rares up at a time, except that a rare that is the target of a world quest stays up for as long as the quest does. A 2024 comment still advises going on the days his world quest (48696) is up, and one of 2025 got the mount 'with the world quest up'. Nothing newer on the schedule was found, so a visit can find him absent.

Coordinates: Wowhead's tooltip has him between 54.4-55.6 and 58.2-61.6; comments give 55.7, 59.9 and 55.6, 60.6; the wiki names Azurelight Square without coordinates. Whether the chaosrunner he rides is killed before him makes no difference (a 2019 comment). Argus has no flying.

What the character must have done: the drop itself asks for nothing. A 2021 comment (+13) got the mount on a new character that had done no Broken Isles or Argus quest and had reached Argus with an engineer's wormhole generator, and one of 2019 on a character without Argus world quests; the campaign among the requirements is only the ordinary way of getting the Vindicaar to Eredath. Wowhead's guide says the chain should be done at least to the end of Rendezvous, its thirteenth quest, which puts a Lightforged Beacon in Dalaran for travelling back to Argus, and that Assault on Broken Shore is account-wide: other characters skip it through Khadgar's 'I've heard this tale before'. Which quest exactly adds Eredath to the Vindicaar's navigation console is not stated in so many words; Eredath, Jewel of Argus is the first quest of the chapter that names the zone.

Wowhead's sold-by list also shows a Hemet Nesingwary XVII at 40,000 of an event currency and links its Legion Remix Rewards guide on the same page: that is the vendor of the Legion Remix event, a limited-time one, and is not counted as a route here. The item binds when picked up and asks for level 10 (wiki, Wowhead).

The mount is one of the six from rares that the Argus guide lists; the guide covers getting to Argus and the campaign, and names the rare and its mount without a walkthrough of its own.

Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
