How to get it

Rare drop from the Felhounds of Sargeras, F'harg and Shatug, the second encounter of Antorus, the Burning Throne, on every difficulty including Raid Finder.

Chance 1% once a week, so about 100 tries on average — Not a recorded figure: 1 in 100 is what players set the Rarity addon to for this mount, on an assumption (Wowhead comment of November 2017). Blizzard published none, and Wowhead (item page read 2026-10-10) lists the drop under F'harg on all four difficulties with no loot count; its tooltip has no figure either. wow.gg (updated August 2026) says roughly 1-5% from player estimates, the wiki only that it drops rarely. Players' own tallies in Wowhead comments: about 355 kills (December 2017), 373 attempts (June 2026), over 100 on Mythic without it (July 2025)

Inside Antorus, the Burning Throne, a raid

Time there about 10 min a visit

Before you go

  • Argus campaign far enough for the Vindicaar to reach the Antoran Wastes: the Broken Shore assault, The Hand of Fate from Dalaran and the Krokuun chapter, The Assault Begins, as far as The Burning Heart, whose objective is to use the Navigation Console to travel to the Antoran Wastes · about 3 h

In all: about 3 h of play, starting from nothing.

/way is for the TomTom addon. Travel times are estimates: flying at 55 yards a second in a straight line and 30 seconds for a portal. A star marks a portal that needs a quest or other unlock done first.

Notes and sources

The lockout is weekly and separate for each difficulty, so one character has up to four tries a week: Raid Finder, Normal, Heroic and Mythic (wow.gg; Wowhead comments). The journal names Shatug and Wowhead lists the drop under F'harg: the two hounds are one encounter. Garothi Worldbreaker has to fall first; wow.gg puts the way to the Felhounds at 2-4 minutes, and the time on the spot is an estimate on top of that.

A 2024 Wowhead comment: after the kill, the green fel pool to the left outside the room kills the character and puts it back at the entrance, ready to change difficulty and come in again.

Raid Finder is queued with the Legion raid finder NPC in front of the Violet Hold in Dalaran (Broken Isles), without going to the entrance; the wing with the Felhounds is Light's Breach (Wowhead comments of 2020 and 2025).

The way to the entrance, by wow.gg:

  • the Lightforged Beacon at Krasus' Landing in Dalaran to the Vindicaar
  • the Navigation Console to Light's Purchase in the Antoran Wastes
  • west through the Stasis Core
  • northwest at the fork near the Felfire Armory
  • down to the fel river and south along the canyon to its end

The entrance coordinates are from the game's own table; no flying on Argus.

Wowhead's item page also lists a vendor, Hemet Nesingwary XVII, at 100,000 of a currency (id 3252); a mount tracker ties that to the Legion Remix event of patch 11.2.5 (the Infinite Bazaar). Whether anything of it remains was not looked into, and it is not counted as a way to get the mount.

Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
