How to get it

Three rare elite panthara on Argus drop the Fel-Spotted Egg: Naroua in Krokuun, Sabuul in Eredath and Varga in the Antoran Wastes. Five days after it is looted the egg becomes a Cracked Fel-Spotted Egg, which may hold this mount, one of three other mana rays, a pet or a worthless yolk. One visit is a round of the three rares, each lootable once a day.

Chance 8.1% once a day, so about 12 tries on average — Worked out, not read as such: Wowhead's recorded egg drops, read 2026-10-10 (Naroua 20,450 in 52,045 loots = 39.3%, Sabuul 11,677 in 27,374 = 42.7%, Varga 10,930 in 29,163 = 37.5%), each times the wiki's 7% for this mount in a cracked egg, gives 2.6-3.0% a rare; one round of all three is 1 - (1 - 0.0275)(1 - 0.0299)(1 - 0.0262) = 8.1%. The wiki does not say where its 7% comes from

Guide Wowhead: Comprehensive Argus Guide

Before you go

  • Argus campaign far enough for the Vindicaar to reach Krokuun, the Antoran Wastes and Eredath: the Broken Shore assault (once for the account), The Hand of Fate from Khadgar in Dalaran, the first chapter (38 quests in Wowhead's guide; its 35th sets the beacon in the Antoran Wastes) and the Eredath chapter after it · about 4 h

In all: about 4 h of play, starting from nothing.

Getting there

Krokuun · 70.5, 33.7
/way Krokuun 70.5 33.7
From Stormwind (Alliance) about 4 min of travel
  1. Take the portal from Wizard's Sanctum to Azsuna*
  2. Use the Lightforged Beacon on Krasus' Landing in Dalaran to teleport to the Vindicaar*
  3. Fly to Krokul Hovel
  4. Ride the rest of the way
From Orgrimmar (Horde) about 4 min of travel
  1. Take the portal from Pathfinder's Den to Azsuna*
  2. Use the Lightforged Beacon on Krasus' Landing in Dalaran to teleport to the Vindicaar*
  3. Fly to Krokul Hovel
  4. Ride the rest of the way

/way is for the TomTom addon. Travel times are estimates: flying at 55 yards a second in a straight line and 30 seconds for a portal. A star marks a portal that needs a quest or other unlock done first.

Notes and sources

A round gives 1.2 eggs on average and about one egg in 14 holds this mount, so around 12 daily rounds are expected, and each egg pays out five days after it drops (Wowhead's item page: 'Duration: 5 days (real time)'). The 15 minutes for a round is an estimate.

Cracked egg contents (wiki):

  • Aged Yolk 30%
  • Docile Skyfin 21%
  • Fel-Afflicted Skyfin 21%
  • 7% each for the Vibrant, Darkspore, Felglow and Scintillating Mana Ray

Where the three rares stand, from Wowhead's tooltips:

  • Naroua in Krokuun, between 70.2, 32.4 and 72.0, 34.8
  • Sabuul in Eredath, between 43.0, 46.8 and 45.2, 50.8
  • Varga in the Antoran Wastes, between 64.4, 49.4 and 65.0, 51.6

The place given above is the point the Felglow and Darkspore Mana Rays use for Naroua, so the three share it. Eredath was called Mac'Aree until patch 9.1.5 (Wowhead's guide). Argus has no flying.

Wowhead's Argus guide names the same three rares for the egg and says Argus rares 'have a chance to spawn in a region-wide 4-hour spawning cycle', can come up together with a world quest, and are locked for a character until the next day's reset once killed; so a round can come up short on a given visit.

From Wowhead comments, as noted for the Felglow and Darkspore Mana Rays: eggs are not unique, an egg is said never to give a mount already known (not confirmed), and Kaara the Pale in Eredath is only a rumoured source. Wowhead's loot table for the egg shows the three rares and nothing else. wow.gg has no page for this mount at the address its Darkspore guide would suggest.

Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
